Fullness of Joy
Ethan sat on the edge of his bed staring at the glow of his phone screen. Notifications flashed. Messages popped up. Videos played. For a few minutes at a time, he felt something close to excitement—almost happiness.
But when the screen finally went dark, the room felt darker too.
He sighed and fell back against his pillow. “Why does it never last?” he whispered.
At youth group the night before, his pastor had read Psalm 16:11 aloud. *“Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.”*
Fullness of joy.
Ethan didn’t feel full. He felt restless.
