Title: Not Ignorant, but Grounded

Question: Do you know why you believe what you believe?

Reflection: Jesus does not call His people to ignorant faith; we are expected to know what we believe and why. Reading God’s Word teaches us why we believe; this is the gospel. The Bereans were wise because they searched the Word for verification; believers are expected to be this wise as well and study His Word.

Prayer Focus:
1. Can I clearly explain why I believe the gospel, or have I assumed it without understanding it?
2. Do I search the Word for verification like the Bereans, or do I accept things without testing them?
3. Have I neglected the study of His Word and settled for a shallow understanding?
