The Attributes of God
I will be still and know that You are God. You will be exalted among the nations.
You will be exalted in the earth. (Psalm 46:10) O God and Father of the Lord Jesus—You are blessed forever. (2 Corinthians 11:31)
Pause to reflect on these affirmations about the person, powers and perfection of God.
The Works of God
O Lord, You formed my inward parts. You wove me together in my mother’s womb. I thank You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful, and my soul knows it full well. My frame was not hidden from You when I was made in secret and skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my embryo, and all the days ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be. (Psalm 139:13-16) Through You, O Christ, all things were made, and without You nothing was made that has been made. In You was life, and that life was our light. (John 1:3–4)
Take a moment to consider the greatness of God’s wonderful works.
My Relationship to God
As for me and my household, we will serve You, O Lord. (Joshua 24:15) By Your grace, O Lord, I want to hear You say to me, “Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord.” (Matthew 25:21)
Pause to thank God for the relationship that you enjoy with Him in Jesus Christ.
The Character I Want to Cultivate
Those who love instruction love knowledge, but those who hate correction are stupid. (Proverbs 12: 1) Pride breeds nothing but strife, but wisdom is found in those who take advice. (Proverbs 13: 10)
Take a moment to ask the Lord for the grace to grow in godly character.
My Relationship to Others
I will contribute to the needs of the saints and practice hospitality. (Romans 12:13) I will not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices You, my God, are well pleased. (Hebrews 13:16)
Pause to review your relationships with others and to commit them to the Lord.
