One Shepherd for All
📖 Scripture
John 10:16–30 (ICB)
I have other sheep that are not in this sheepfold. I must bring them also. They will listen to my voice, and there will be one flock and one shepherd.
The Father loves me because I give my life so that I can take it back again.
No one takes it away from me. I give it up myself. I have the power to give it up and the power to take it back again. This is what my Father told me.”
Again the Jews did not agree with each other because of these words.
Many of them said, “A demon has come into him and made him crazy. Why listen to him?”
But others said, “These are not the words of a man who is crazy. Can a demon open the eyes of the blind?”
It was winter, and the time came for the Feast of Dedication at Jerusalem.
Jesus was in the Temple area at Solomon’s Porch.
The Jews gathered around him and said, “How long will you make us doubt you? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.”
Jesus answered, “I told you already, but you did not believe. The miracles I do in my Father’s name show who I am.
But you do not believe, because you are not my sheep.
My sheep listen to my voice. I know them, and they follow me.
I give my sheep eternal life. They will never die, and no one can take them out of my hand.
My Father gave my sheep to me. He is greater than all, and no person can steal my sheep out of my Father’s hand.
The Father and I are one.”
