The Attributes of God
You, O Lord Most High, are awesome,
the great King over all the earth!
You are the King of all the earth,
and I will sing Your praise.
You reign over the nations;
You are seated on Your holy throne. (Psalm 47:2, 7–8)
You, O Son of God, are the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being, upholding all things by Your powerful word. After You cleansed our sins, You sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much superior to angels as the name You have inherited is more excellent than theirs. (Hebrews 1:3–4)

The Works of God. Behold, You will come with power, Lord God, and Your arm will rule for You. Behold, Your reward is with You, and Your recompense accompanies You. You will feed Your flock like a shepherd; You will gather the lambs in Your arms and carry them close to Your heart; You will gently lead those that have young. (Isaiah 40:10–11)
When You, O Son of Man, come in Your glory, and all the angels with You, You will sit on Your glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered before You, and You will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. You will put the sheep on Your right and the goats on Your left. Then You, O King, will say to those on Your right, “Come, you who are blessed by My Father; inherit the kingdom prepared for you since the foundation of the world.” (Matthew 25:31–34)

My Relationship to God
Like Josiah, I want to do what is right in Your sight, O Lord, and walk in all the ways of David, not turning aside to the right or to the left. (2 Kings 22:1–2)
I do not want to be like the rocky places on which the seed was thrown—like those who hear the word and at once receive it with joy, but since they have no root, last only a short time; when affliction or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. Nor do I want to be like the soil among the thorns on which seed was sown—like those who hear the word, but the worries of this world, the deceitfulness of riches and pleasures, and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it immature and unfruitful. Instead, I want to be like the good soil on which seed was sown—like those who with noble and good hearts hear the word, understand and accept it, and with perseverance bear fruit, yielding thirty, sixty or a hundred times what was sown. (Matthew 13:20–23; Mark 4:16–20; Luke 8:13–15)
Pause to thank God for the relationship that you enjoy with Him in Jesus Christ.
The Character I Want to Cultivate
Blessed are those who do not walk in the counsel of the
wicked
or stand in the way of sinners
or sit in the seat of scorners.
But their delight is in Your law, O Lord,
and on Your law they meditate day and night.
And they shall be like trees planted by streams of water;
They yield fruit in season and their leaves do not
wither;
Whatever they do will prosper. (Psalm 1:1–3)
O God, I will be diligent to present myself to You as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. (2 Timothy 2:15)
Take a moment to ask the Lord for the grace to grow in godly character.
My Relationship to Others. Those who spare the rod hate their children, but those who love their children are careful to discipline them. (Proverbs 13:24)
Foolishness is bound up in the hearts of children, but the rod of discipline will drive it far from them. (Proverbs 22:15)
Pause to review your relationships with others and to commit them to the Lord.
