Prayer Reflection: #12

*The Attributes of God

O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name

in all the earth!

You have set Your glory above the heavens! (Psalm 8:1)

My soul blesses You,

O Lord my God, You are very great;

You are clothed with splendor and majesty.

(Psalm 104:1)

*Pause to reflect on these affirmations about the person, powers and perfection of God.

*The Works of God

O Lord, in six days You made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore You blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy. (Exodus 20:11)

You alone are the Lord. You made the heavens, even the heaven of heavens, and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You give life to all that is in them, and the host of heaven worships You. (Nehemiah 9:6)

*Take a moment to consider the greatness of God’s wonderful works.

*My Relationship to God

You, O Lord, are my shepherd; I shall not be in want.

You make me lie down in green pastures;

You lead me beside quiet waters;

You restore my soul.

You guide me in the paths of righteousness

for Your name’s sake.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow

of death,

I will fear no evil, for You are with me.

Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence

of my enemies.

You anoint my head with oil;

My cup overflows.

Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days

of my life,

and I will dwell in Your house, O Lord, forever.

(Psalm 23:1–6)

I know that in all things You work for the good of those who love You, O God, of those who have been called according to Your purpose. (Romans 8:28)

*Pause to thank God for the relationship that you enjoy with Him in Jesus Christ.

The Character I Want to Cultivate

Lord, make me to know my end and what is the

measure of my days;

Let me know how fleeting is my life. (Psalm 39:4)

Teach me to number my days, that I may gain

a heart of wisdom. (Psalm 90:12)

*Take a moment to ask the Lord for the grace to grow in godly character.

*My Relationship to Others\

Since we were called into fellowship with You, Lord Jesus Christ, all of us should agree with one another, so that there may be no divisions among us, and that we may be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. (1 Corinthians 1:9–10)

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female, for we are all one in You, Christ Jesus. (Galatians 3:28)

*Pause to review your relationships with others and to commit them to the Lord.
